Introduction
We at Erikwealth ("us," "we," "our" or "Erikwealth") take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what "Personal Data" (defined below) we collect, and how we use that information. By using the website and applications we provide (the "Services"), you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not access the application or otherwise use the Services. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.
"Personal Data" means any information that identifies or relates to a particular individual and also includes information referred to as "personally identifiable information" or "personal information" under applicable data privacy laws, rules or regulations. This Privacy Policy does not cover the practices of companies we don't own or control.
1. Information We Collect
We strive to organize the application around an anonymous username as the key identifier of a user account throughout the application. That said, in order to provide the Erikwealth Services, we do collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, connect financial accounts, or contact us for support. We use data and information collected as listed below:
Account Data: When you sign up for an account using your email and password, we collect your email address and enable you to create a username. Alternatively, you may sign up and sign in using Google authentication in which case we only store your email address and create a random unique username. While more information may be available to us through the Google authentication such as the full name associated with the email, we do not use or store any of it beyond the email address.
Financial Data: When you connect your financial accounts to Erikwealth through the Plaid service and/or when you manually enter data, we will collect and store transaction, balance, holdings and other financial information from your financial institution accounts and user input. This includes financial institution and account names (e.g., Citibank Checking) often with the last 4 digits of the account number (e.g., 4562) to help you distinguish and identify the accounts. We do not see, save or store your financial account credentials, nor do we have direct access to your financial accounts since we only use and store a Plaid access token from Plaid to retrieve the financial data. To provide you with further security, we only request and receive "read-only" data, meaning we have no ability to move, access or otherwise deal with your money. You retain complete control over your finances, and we have no ability to change that. In addition, this financial data is tied to the Erikwealth account represented by a username and email address. This financial data is not explicitly tied back to you by name because we do not store any data available through Plaid and these financial institutions that connects to your real world identity such as name, etc.
Communication Data: We may collect information when you contact us with questions or concerns and when you voluntarily respond to questionnaires, surveys or requests for market research seeking your opinion and feedback. Providing communication information is optional to you.
Payment Data: To sustain the business, we will monetize our Services through subscriptions. This will require payment data associated with credit card information such as payment card type, card number, name, zip code, etc. But this information will only be used to process payments through our service provider and we will not store credit card details in our database other than tokens needed to enable the payments.
Analytics: We track analytics such as web page or mobile interactions, referring webpage/source through which you accessed the Services, non-identifiable request IDs, and statistics associated with the interaction between device or browser and the Services. This includes device/IP data such as IP address, device ID, domain server, and type of device/ operating system/ browser used to access the Services.
Profile Data: We will have a profile page that will be by default private but can be made public through user choice and retain anonymity through the username. No real names will be a part of these profile pages. This profile page will enable our community of users to connect with and form mentor/mentee relationships to help each other learn, grow, and achieve financial independence. The profile page will ask for optional data that if provided, will allow people to connect to and find each other through common qualities such as: country/state of residence, age bracket, gender, occupation.
2. How We Use Your Information
We do not sell your information to anyone for any reason. We use the information you provide for the purposes as outlined below:

- To improve the Services, build new products, and provide customer support.

- To do fraud protection, security and debugging.
- To comply with legal obligations and legal process and to protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property, and/or that of our affiliates, you, or other third parties.
Aggregated Information: We may aggregate anonymized data and use the aggregated information to analyze the effectiveness of our Service, to improve and add features to our Service, and for other similar purposes. Anonymized data means removing information that makes the data identifiable to a particular user. In addition, from time to time, we may analyze the general behavior and characteristics of users of our Service and share aggregated information like general user statistics with prospective business partners. We may collect aggregated information through the Service, through cookies, and through other means described in this Privacy Policy.
Artificial Intelligence: Our planner service and recommendations will be powered by Generative AI models such as LLMs (large language models). We will evaluate different models and may use one or many from different providers such as Gemini from Google. When we use a model, the data (e.g., transaction history, investment holdings, balances, etc) we input to the model will be kept private for Erikwealth use only and will not be used to train these provider's models for widespread public use. There are techniques (prompt engineering, fine tuning, continual pre-training) to customize models for the purposes of our Services where such tuned models will only be used to deliver our users the best product possible.
3. Data Security and Retention
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information. Your "read-only" financial account credentials are handled securely through our partner Plaid and are never stored on our servers. We connect with Plaid through access tokens that we securely store on our servers. We seek to protect your Personal Data from unauthorized access, use and disclosure using appropriate physical, technical, organizational and administrative security measures based on the type of Personal Data and how we are processing that data. You should also help protect your data by appropriately selecting and protecting your password and/or other sign-on mechanism; limiting access to your computer or device and browser; and signing off after you have finished accessing your account.
Here are a few points to emphasize:
- We don't store your real world identity. Erikwealth Services only identify you through your username and email address. While our payment processor for subscription plans does ask for credit card details which includes name and address, that data is stored and managed by the payment processor and it is only used for processing payments.
- We use trustworthy partners. We only use vetted and well respected service providers when handling your most sensitive data such as Plaid and Google.
- We use encryption technology. We encrypt your data where appropriate in our database.
- We can't directly access your financial accounts. When you connect our Services to your financial accounts and institutions, we only have read-only access through Plaid which means we can't move your funds or change your accounts in any way.
We retain Personal Data about you for as long as you have a user account on our Services. We provide the ability for users to self-serve and delete their Erikwealth account under their User Settings. If you delete your account, we remove your Personal Data and all financial account connections through Plaid. In some cases we retain Personal Data for longer, if doing so is necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes or collect fees owed, or is otherwise required by applicable law, rule or regulation. We may further retain information in an anonymous or aggregated form where that information would not identify or be connected to you personally.
